GRANDMA MABEL’S LEGACY BRAND DESIGN:

This brand sold over 2 million at retail with a variety of products like dishware, dish towels, aprons, note cards, large wall calendar, 3 dimensional resin figurines and more. All the brand imagery including the logo, website, paintings, type font, patterns, !5 icons and colors were based on Tracy Holdeman’s real life grandma, Mabel. We also wrote all the stories and designed all the products that sold nationally at Lowe’s, Hobby Lobby, Fred Meyer and Home Depot.

CARLOS O’KELLY’S MEXICAN RESTAURANT:

Carlos O’Kelly’s is a chain of 20 restaurants in the Midwest. The brand is a mix of elements to reflect the mixed ingredients and flavors of the menu and bar drinks. Real baked dishes and unique sauces enhance the hand prepared enchiladas, burritos, tacos, fajitas, salads and desserts. Carlos brings food and people together.

The process for changing such a historically influential and important brand logo and brand identity should be a deliberate one. J.P. Weigand & Sons, Inc., with over a hundred years of equity in the name and several decades of equity in their brand logo would be best served to avoid any drastic change.
